Genre Research

I have chosen mainstream pop as my genre simply because whilst I was researching different types genres for my annotation work I frequently came to terms with most of the successful and well known magazines being the ones that are up to date with the latest chart hitting music and celebrity gossip. I also found that I was attracted to this genre over other types which may be because I am of the psycho graphic audience the aim to target. For example magazines such as 'Billboard', 'NME' and 'Wonderland' because of the particular retro urban look and engaging pictures chosen for the front cover.

Below will be the research I carried out in investigating my genre and the reasons for choosing it amongst the rest.
